" I liked the premise of a female PI and actually was surprised that the character is not yet fully developed in the early novel. I love it that Santa Teresa is really Santa BarbaraCA.my favorite place in the world!:-) " - Kirsten, " I decided, for no particular reason, to read Sue Grafton's alphabet series.they are enjoyable, but not great, starting with "A." I'm on G now.just fun reads and interesting, but hardly great literature. Not going to list them all but I've read my way through "J" and saving the rest for dark days to come. " Kinsey Millhone has gotten me through many a dark day. " I enjoyed Sue Grafton's easy style with her very believable female character! Although not great literary works they provide some fun and adventure following the troubles and antics of Kinsey Milhone. May read some of the rest of the series but not a high priority. " Good story, quite light reading, but ideal for holiday reading. I loved listening while doing origami or drawing. " I listened to this book on tape back when I was homeschooled. It is engaging that you feel like your helping solve the case. I made the culprit early on, but it was still a good read. " thought I had better read the first in the series seeing as I had already read about 10 others. Likeable main character and good storylines.

Easy to read and are fun to figure out who done it mysteries. Kinsey Malone seems to love herself more than the plot that doesnt thicken " - April, " my mother loves these books, but i just couldnt get into them. " Have read every book in her series and am always eager for the next one!! " - Bobby,

A quick holiday read for people who want a few tense moments, but nothing too tense. I can't rate it higher than three stars, though, because it is quite forgettable. It was exactly what I was expecting and what I was looking for, so I enjoyed it. A private investigator steadily closes in on the bad guy, things get heated, things get resolved, happy ending. The only good thing I can say about the book is that the rhythm never slows down, because every action is followed immediately by an other action, which is not necessarily a good thing. Characters are stereotypes, predictable and with no psychological traits worth mentioning. Descriptions are dull and far from evoking. A is for Appalling would have been more suitable.
